The Department of Social Work established in the year 2025 aims to impart professional knowledge, skills and training to enable students to effectively handle life challenges. The aim of this department is to equip the students with the holistic theoretical understanding and to integrate theory into practice.

In addition to fostering scientific temper among the students, this subject rightly called as the Helping Profession combines education and intervention to promote ideals of social service, social and economic justice, equality and human rights; promote human well-being and empower people.

The core competencies inculcated among the students include both Primary and Secondary methods of Professional Social Work viz; Case Work, Group Work, Community Work, Social Welfare Administration, Social Work Research and Social Action. In addition to the above, Counselling and Guidance, Basics of Rural Development, Social Work Response to Disasters, NGO Management, Women Empowerment, Social Legislations in India etc. are some of the interesting and applied courses taught within the ambit of Social Work Degree offered in this college.

The Social Work aims to create a better future for those who are marginalised and exploited like Children, Women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Elderly, Disabled, Migrants, People Living with HIV/AIDS and Sexual Minorities etc.

Our department strives to produce skilful human resources with expertise in various social work methods and interventions guided by strong ethical code of conduct. By investing in social work, we can create a more compassionate and equitable world, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential and positively contribute to nation building.
